How we Quote your Project
The following subtitles cover each area we consider for pricing.
Our pricing starts with the measurements or your desired piece. Next, we narrow down desired species and specs of material dimensions. Species will vary greatly in price at times. For Example:
Red Oak- $3.88-$8.50 Per board foot
White Oak- $4-$10 Per board foot
Black Walnut- $12-$18 per board foot
Walnut will vary greatly depending on style and size. Meaning, dimensional lumber versus a large live edge slab.
-
Pricing the Labor
Many carpenters have their own hourly rate. Rates depend on style and size of project.
We start at $100 per hour. (Negotiable depending on nature of project)
At Liqwood, we are familiar with the average hours needed to complete Dining tables.
A 72” x 36” x 30” table averages around 20-30 hours to build. Total= $2000-$3000 + Materials
Liqwood Forest often has multiple projects happening consecutively. Subsequently, the labor is spread out over a period of 3-4 weeks on average.
Labor Hours often include subcontracting or machine rentals.
-
Calculating Board Footage
Board Footage = Thickness” (inches) x Width” (inches) x Length” (inches) / 144
or
Length ‘(feet) x width “(inches) x Thickness “(inches)/ 12
Material calculation = Top (72inches x 36 inches x 2inches / 144 = board foot of your top)
So, 36 Board Feet x $3.88-$8.50 per board foot. Total = $140-$306 for the top
Base= depends on style greatly. Trestle legs average about 10 board feet per leg Total = $38- $85
Materials Total= $292- $646
-
Epoxy Costs
Epoxy tables must include Epoxy liquid costs, and pouring frames.
Average price $20-$24 per liter.
liters needed are calculated by the size of space the epoxy will fill.
This may account for an additional $300-$5000 in materials.
It all depends on the size and style of table. Larger voids require more liquid volume.
-
Steel Table Legs
Currently, we do not manufacture our steel legs.
Local welding costs average around 75 per hour.
Common styles are around $150-$250 per leg.
